miss u already

on the subway today i was reading about a guy who is an imposter, pretends to be a teenager. i was distracted by the nearly-compulsive blackberrying of a woman next to me. she has spent too much time in the sun, her skin was too dark and dry and her ponytail kept grazing my shoulder (one of my subway tics, i cannot stand people's hair touching my bare arms, it seems so dirty). she had bright red toenail polish. a ring around her thumb, and she wrote a message on her sms device with "u" and "wanna" and then she hit spellcheck and the spellcheck completed its task and did not correct anything, which i found depressing.

then, she wrote another note: i miss u already.

which i found tantalizing.
